5 Common Threats to Furniture

Some people may really find it odd for anyone to be so cautious of certain furniture even it doesn’t seem look expensive and valuable. Others may not understand why some people are so protective of certain pieces that don’t have high monetary value. Well, some people ya think that he price of an object would say everything about it. This idea is totally unacceptable for people who believe in the value of family heirloom pieces. Some people really counts on the sentimental value of an object a lot that preserving it is really important.

For people who really values the furniture that proves to be very significant to the as individuals, here is a list of the most common “enemies” that may prove to be hazardous to our precious pieces:


  • Dogs- These creatures are very well much like babies, only they tend to teeth on hard things that they find cozy in some ways. Dogs are definitely a threat to wooden furniture.



  • Girls- some girls are just so fond of cosmetics more than the real things that cost more. They won’t mind spilling nail polish or smudging a lipstick over anything. One should definitely have a close watch over them.



  • Glues- things like this could help you in some ways, but never put those on the wrong place or you would be surprise to see strange markings scattered on your furniture.



  • Plants- These creatures could seem so innocent but proves to be a big threat when over-watered.

  • Sun-The sun could have a lot of benefits to man but never to furniture, leave one boldly under the sun and you would be shocked later to find out that the color of your furniture has actually faded off.


  • Now that you know the things to avoid in preserving furniture, you have the idea on when to keep a close watch. Better yet, use a surface protective film to protect your valuable pieces from unwanted damages. In this kind of situation, it is always better to be ready than be sorry later on.
